Description of Services 

Sophomore/Junior Year:

 

  • Review of academic record

  • Advice on course selection

  • Recommendations on extracurricular involvement

  • Recommendations on summer activities

  • Testing Recommendations (ACT versus SAT, when to schedule, advice on test prep, analysis of results)

  • In depth interview of student to determine learning style, college fit, personality

  • In depth interview with student and parents on college preferences

  • Preparation of initial list of colleges to research and visit based on social and academic comfort, size preference, and geographic preferences

  • Advice on making college visits

 

Senior Year:

 

  • Finalization of list

  • Strategy with Early Action, ED, ED II, Regular, Rolling applications

  • Action plan with organization timeline

  • Essay brainstorming sessions, as needed

  • Editing/feedback on common application essays

  • Editing/feedback on activities and resume

  • Editing/feedback on all supplemental essays

  • Review of applications and help with the Common App

  • Recommendations/practice for college interviews

  • Help with making final college choice

 

 

 

 

 

The Comprehensive Package

 

The Comprehensive Package takes the student and the family through each step of the search and application process. This all-inclusive package starts in the spring of the sophomore year and would typically cover 10-12 meetings. This package includes unlimited research, emails, and telephone consultations.                                                              

 

Sessions for Freshman/Sophomores:

Freshman and young sophomores sometimes benefit from a sessions aimed at academic advising regarding course selection and early test preparation. Please contact me for more information on this.

 

Consultations for an Hourly Fee

I am available on an hourly basis for consultations on any academic and college search related topic.
